This activity shall develop the first development baseline for the SST Core Software under the community approach by addressing theSST-UF needs and derived requirements. The full implementation of new standardised message formats shall be addressed. The envisioned community-driven development approach requires a high grade of modularisation and formal interface definitions among the modules.Such modularity will facilitate the parallel development of the overall application by different parties with possibly different functional priorities. The modules must be cleanly separated in terms of their functional purpose, technical interfaces and deploymentstrategies. The study part of this activity shall assess modern architectural paradigms and apply the most suitable one to the SSTCore architecture keeping the functional and performance system requirements of the system as the main driver. The main focus of the architecture shall be leveraging the maintainability, reliability, security and scalability of every module and therefore the entireapplication by utilising modern, community supported middleware and/or vertical microservices solution when appropriate, and possibly also infrastructure like scalable cloud computing. The outcome of the activity will be a significantly improved SST Core baselinewhich will be considered in the SST User Forum for upcoming development efforts. The activity is intended to be followed by the development of a second development baseline.
